I just had to share with you two beautiful cards created by a friend who is new to stamping. I love this stamp set, “Nature Walk” and have seen many beautiful cards created by many talented stampers.
I went to drop off a shipment for my friend Sandra and she wanted to share with me what she had been up to — Stamping!!! Here are two of her beautiful cards. For someone who has just started to learn the art of rubber stamping, Sandra is doing very well. She is a talented and lovely lady; and I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to share with her my love for stamping/papercrafting. Enjoy her cards; I am!

I tried to use as much pink in different shades — Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, and my favorite Melon Mambo. Well, it’s the “new” pink to me. I stamped a canvas picture frame using an old retired stamp set that I really love and still have — DD Tulips. Since five members of the HSS reside in San Antonio, Texas — I took the opportunity to take a picture of the ladies to use in the frame.
Here is a close up view of the 3×3 cards:
The Pink-a-licious Birthday card is the last item shown.
Picture Frame: Craft Inks (Pretty In Pink, Wild Wasabi & Basic Black)
Gift Set: Ice Cream Parlor DSP; Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon; Basic Jewels – Rhinestones; Cardstock: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo & Vellum; Sizzix Textured Impressions Folders: Elegant Lines, Perfect Polk Dots, Finial Press & Petals-A-Plenty; Oval All Stamp Set, Melon Mambo Ink Pad; Punches: Oval Scallop, Large Oval; Sizzix BigZL Fun Flowers Die
Birthday Card: Ice Cream Parlor DSP & Button Pack; Build-A-Blossom stamp set; Blossom Petals Punch; Oval Scallop Punch, Oval large punch; Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Whisper White Cardstock, Ink pads: Pretty-in-Pink, Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo
I had fun creating these cards. Thank you so much for visiting my site. Have a wonderful week!!

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a Shadow Box Technique.
Hmmmmmmmm…….now I really had to get my “thinking cap” on for this technique. So I went to Splitcoast Stampers to get some help. There are many versions of this technique; so here is my project/card — I hope you like it.
I tried really hard to use images other than flowers and/or birds. And I had picked a couple of stamp sets that would have done the job. But this past week and weekend, I have been blessed with calls and visits from friends.
If you look up the definition of Friendship, it is defined as a form of interpersonal relationship generally considered to be closer than association. Hmmmm…. it’s more than that. When someone gives you their friendship, it is a special gift. Like a garden, you have to nurture and take care of that friendship so that it will grow and last forever. Like the different flowers in your garden, each one is different and special. And what joy each one gives you and each has a special place in your heart because you value that special friendship.
I came across a Stampin’Up! set in the catalog (“The “Nicest Things”) that has a stamp with a great phrase “A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be — Douglas Pagels”. Isn’t that cool!
This past week, I got to chat and/or spend time with some friends. I have been fortunate to catch up with old high school friends, dear friends from California & also Stampin’Up! sisters (Hi! Evey, Lily & Noreen), my new stamping friends (Sandra & Ruth Ann), the HSS Design Team who are also my Stampin’Up! sisters who I’ll get to stamp with some of the ladies this week (Gen, Anne Marie, Amy & Erin — I’ll see you this week — YEA!!!) and my cousins Liz & Sandy who are like my kid sisters and new stampers. I always wished that I had a sister, but you know, I have lots them.
So this was the impetus to my creating the “Friends” shadow box card — which is now going to framed & hung on the wall. Yep! I’m really blessed.
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers (tree), Friends 24-7 (wording), Simple Friendship (swirls)
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Sizzix Die: Top Note
Accessories: Gold, Clear & Silver Embossing Powders, Jewels – Basic Pearls, VersaMark pad, mounting tape, Dimensionals, Design Label Punch
Thank you for visiting — please come back again! Have a wonderful week.

Okay, this week’s challenge was to use any of the Sizzix Dies that we have in the Stampin’Up! Catalog. And what a great opportunity to use those awesome dies we have.
Dilemma: So here I have a plethora of Sizzix dies at my disposal as well as Designer Series Paper & accessories, and I have a Challenge due on Monday night. I’ve been known to purchase a “few” dies — but which ones do I use????????? YIKES! I fear procrastination coming on!! I dislike when I’m procrastinating on doing a task. Somehow I have laundry to do, ironing, or worst of all — cleaning the kitchen floor tiles. Well I have you know — that I decided to cook & bake also.
Yep! I made a homemade Marinara sauce with spinach pasta — and then went on to making Cinnamon Rolls from scratch because I just knew my husband needed to have a nice dinner. And this morning as he had his coffee and Cinnamon Roll, he mentioned how lovely the kitchen tiles looked. He knew I was procrastinating. OH Yeah! Not to mention, that I had watched 5 hours of Hawaii 5-0 (that I had taped) while doing the laundry and ironing EVERYTHING that came out of the dryer. While still pondering WHAT was I going to create for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge.
Somehow I thought watching the shows would give me some sort of inspiration for a card. NOT! I went upstairs to my craft room, pulled out dies, cardstock, etc. and my DVDs “Pride & Prejudice” and “Lost in Austen”. Ta Dum! I knew Jane Austen would come to my rescue. So here are my creations — hope you like them.
“A FRIEND IS….”– This card is dedicated to all my Stampin’Up! sisters. You’ve been there for me in more ways than you will ever know.
Stamps: Wording “A friend is….” from Simply Said stamp Set #115066
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla
Classic Ink Pads: Night of Navy (for sponging)
Sizzix Dies: Frame Oval Scallop (#114521), Lots of Tags Sizzlits (#114508)

“ALWAYS ON MY MIND…” – This card I created for Don, my husband. I’m so blessed to say that I married my BFF (Best Friend Forever). I showed him the card, but advised him that this card would be on my display board. I used LOTS of bling on this card!!
Stamps: Wording “Always on my mind….” from Always stamp set (#113620)
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Very Vanilla
Classic Ink Pads: Night of Navy (for sponging)
Sizzix Dies: 3″ Circle Die (#122125 – Occasions Mini Catalog), Lots of Tags Sizzlits (#114508), Tag from Matchbox Die (#114890)

Ribbon: Victoria Crochet Trim (#118481), Early Espresso 1/8″ Taffeta
LATTICE CANDLE: Hard to tell — but this really is a candle. I’ve been wanting to use the Lattice BigZ Sizzix die (#115958) and the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit (#118138). So at 10:40pm last night I decided to use a candle that’s been in my closet and create. At this point, I stopped “creating” and went to bed.
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Vintage (#121782)
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz
Sizzix Dies: Lattice BigZ Sizzix die (#115958)
Accessories: Jewels – Basic Pearls (#119247), Whisper White Organza Ribbon (#114319), Dimensionals (#104430 – to adhere butterflies)
Thank you all for visiting my site. I usually don’t write long blogs (well that’s not really true — I’ve been known to write “novels” for letters) — However! I’ve had 2 cups of coffee and just came back from an errand where I stopped and purchased a Latte — so I’m totally loaded with caffeine.
If you get a chance, please hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and participate in their “To Die For” Challenge. Wait till you see what my Stampin’Up! sisters have created!!!!
