HSS Challenge #75 – Good Day Sunshine!

Hello All!

I know you haven’t heard much from me.   Well — I went back to work ……….and moving from California to Texas 19 months ago, I had a nice time staying home and attempting to be a full-time Stampin’Up! Demonstrator.   But I missed the work pace (Yeah, I know, am I crazy?!?!) and have been trying to find a new balance in my life with a new job — working full-time and still continuing my Stampin’Up! business.  I love stamping.  And with a busy work schedule, stamping has been my “Zen” to relax — that and coming home to my husband.  He’s been so AWESOME!   He’s become Chef Cieslak; creating a lot of wonderful dinners.  He’s ventured into my unending collection of cookbooks.

OK — Hand Stamped Sentiments, a challenge theme: “Good Day Sunshine” — hmmmm there is a Beatles song with that title.  I took this picture at night and the lighting isn’t great.    I have to thank Frenchie for the inspiration.  I cased the idea from her.  Frenchie calls is “Ghosting on DSP”.  I love the Medallion background stamp.  The only thing I changed was the bottom part of the card — I texturized the DSP and sponged it to “pop” out the embossed images.  Other than that, this card was really a quick and easy card to do.  And it’s a technique I really love — Embossing.  It was the very first technique I learned back in 1989!   That’s how I got hooked into stamping.

Check out Frenchie’s website — she’s a very creative lady.  Well here is my card.

HSS Challenge – Flourish Fever

I’m sooo behind on my posting.   This should have been posted a week ago, and it wasn’t.  Excuses:  as many as I could possibly come up with but none valid enough.   My bad!!

This card was created for the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge — Flourish Fever.   The colors I used are soft and the DSP was one that was discontinued in June, but it matched perfectly with the textured embossed folder that I used.  It also allowed me to use one of the new Stampin’Up! punches that’s in the new catalog.  Wow! what great punch —  “Lace Ribbon Border” – totally love it.  Okay, so here is the card.

Fancy Folds

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments, their challenge is Fancy Folds.   I had been wanting to try the Tri-fold card for quite some time and finally found a site that offered the best instructions — quick and to the point.   Here is the site address:  www.dostamping.typepad.com  or you can go directly to see the Tri-Fold cards with the directions:  Tri-Fold Shutter Card & Party Hearty

Nature Walk

I just had to share with you two beautiful cards created by a friend who is new to stamping.   I love this stamp set, “Nature Walk” and have seen many beautiful cards created by many talented stampers.

I went to drop off a shipment for my friend Sandra and she wanted to share with me what she had been up to — Stamping!!!    Here are two of her beautiful cards.  For someone who has just started to learn the art of rubber stamping, Sandra is doing very well.  She is a talented and lovely lady; and I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to share with her my love for stamping/papercrafting.    Enjoy her cards; I am!

HSS Challenge #62 – Pink-A-Licious

Pink-a-licious is the theme this week.  A nice color to bring in the new season of Spring!!  And all the Pink-A-licious creativity you’re going to see this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments (HSS).

I tried to use as much pink in different shades  — Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, and my favorite Melon Mambo.   Well, it’s the “new”  pink to me.    I stamped a canvas picture frame using an old retired stamp set that I really love and still have — DD Tulips.    Since five members of the HSS reside in San Antonio, Texas — I took the opportunity to take a picture of the ladies to use in the frame.

The gift box & 3×3 cards were a “last minute” design.  I had created a card but I realized that my assigned project was not a card but a gift set — Like duh!!!  Back to the drawing board and start creating something.   The box itself is not my creation.  I got the instructions from Angie Juda’s site Chic’n Scratch Live!  Check it out — she did an awesome job on the tutorial for the box.   The 3×3 note cards are my designs and I really had a great time creating these cards.  Below is the list of supplies I used to create these items.

HSS Challenge #60 – Blooming Blossoms

Hello!   This is a great week for me!!!  It’s “Dancing with the Stars” time as well as “American Idol”.  So it also means that I will be in my craft room with my TV on watching my favorite shows and stamping.   “Pride and Prejudice”,
“Emma”, “Sense & Sensibility” and “Persuasion” (all movies based on Jane Austen’s books) have been put away for this season.

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Blooming Blossoms.  My task was to create a gift set.  So here are two ideas — both quick and easy.

The first is a Soap & Toothbrush Dispenser set.  I had purchased the “stampable” dispensers many years ago at a rubber stamp convention — 10 years ago to be exact.  I guess I was just waiting for the right project to come along as well as the right Designer Series Paper (Greenhouse Gala) to inspire me to finally use this set and create.

The second item is also a quick and easy project — a desk set with matching pen.   I actually had this on my desk, so I decided to upgrade it by changing the pattern.    What makes this a real quick and easy project, is that I used the Stampin’Up! Greenhouse Gala DSP and cardstock.  No stamping involved at all!!!   I love using the punches so I took the opportunity to use the Scallop Trim Punch to embellish.   If you’re wondering what do to for a Hostess set, this is a great idea!!!

I hope these ideas will help you.  Thank you for dropping in and visiting my site.   Have a wonderful week!!!

HSS Challenge – Spring Inspiration – Happy Birthday card

Hello Everyone!

Well with the new time change this past Sunday, it’s just Mother Nature’s way of letting us all know that Spring is will be coming soon.   I’m certainly having a slight difficulty getting adjusted to the time; however if this is my worst problem — then I’m really having a great life.

My apologies for not posting sooner.   This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is Spring/Easter Inspiration.  I chose to do a card with flowers.   So here is my card for this week.  I hope you enjoy it and if you do, please drop me a note.

If you’re wondering where the Cherry Cobbler frame came from, well it’s from the Sizzix Lattice Frame Die.   I was going to use the Lattice Die itself, then I noticed the cardstock and realized that it looked like a frame.   I’ll use the Lattice die for another future project.  The stamp set is the Herb Expression.  I used Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride cardstock and ink pads.

Have a wonderful week.
